Roger has worked for over 25 years in Technology and Management consulting, working in Telecommunications, Government (primarily Education, Health and Regional Development Agencies), Pharmaceuticals, Utilities, Manufacturing and Media. Roger has had a leading role at BT, Cap Gemini, Atos Origin, PA Consulting and Realia Consulting before founding Intelligent Linking.
Roger has significant experience in the design, development and implementation of high performing businesses solutions, whether the scope is organisation wide or focused on specific areas of the business. Roger brings expertise in strategy, performance management, customer focus and knowledge management to bear in the development of (often IT enabled) innovative solutions that engage the organisation in changing behaviours.
Roger’s client list includes Department of Health, General Motors, GSK, Welsh Assembly Government, Scottish Enterprise, The World Bank, North West Development Agency, Yorkshire Forward, Becta, The National College for Leadership of Schools and Children’s Services, DCSF, AON, BT, Scottish Government, Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations.
Roger is also a Visiting Fellow of the London South Bank University and regularly teaches on Knowledge Management and Strategy.
Terry is an entrepreneur in spirit and deed. His early experience as an engineer provided the discipline and the intuition to dissect concepts, devices and businesses into their constituent elements in order to create strategies for development and growth.
From there he moved into technical publishing and developed his very personal sales skills, building his particular magazine into the UK’s leading Electronics Industry journal with a multi-million pound turnover. With another goal reached Terry looked again to reinvent his career and stepped from publishing into advertising.
For over twenty-five years Terry has worked within Marketing and Advertising as a highly dynamic catalyst in forming and retaining client relationships. Many of his business clients are long standing, helped to a large degree to the strong belief in key relationship building and effective service delivery which is the ethos of the business.
Terry has been fundamental in the development of all the organisations he has worked within, from small highly focussed electronics advertising business to a multi-media communications company, incorporating creative advertising, public relations, and digital delivery, contained within a platform of strategic client focussed advice.
As a member of the business’ management team Terry demonstrates his early learned perceptive skills to immediately focus on a situation and develop intuitive responses. As a shareholder and director Terry provides key capabilities to drive growth within the organisation.
Simon Merrick began his career running an artwork sales business while studying at South Bank, London. A Business Studies graduate, Simon entered the technology sector and created the marketing plan for a Californian start-up networking company, which developed the techniques to process data over telephone wire, a forerunner to current networks around the world.
Returning to the UK, Simon joined the public relations industry and worked within boutique agencies supporting major organisations in the software and computer mainframe environments, and launched Oracle into the UK market.
Simon joined SNS Marketing Communications in 1999, as PR Director and joined the Board shortly thereafter. SNS rebranded in 2004 as Zest ST, and Simon became Company Secretary. In 2005, Simon and another board member initiated a highly successful MBO of the business and have developed the board of directors to provide a wider experience-base to create a platform for the future growth of the agency.
Simon offers over twenty years as a public relations management and has created UK and European Campaigns for organisation as varied as; Shell, Sainsbury’s, AMD, Phillips, Oracle, Kent County Council, Essex Council, and celebrity chef Richard Phillips. Clear objective centred planning and results orientated implementation have ensured successful campaigns across these contrasting industries.
Tracy worked in a management support capacity in a variety of settings in the printing industry and for several publishing and consultancy companies before joining Intelligent Linking. She has more than 15 years of experience in primary and secondary education and has developed a sound understanding of the education system, the care of children and young people and the attendant workforce.
Tracy is a resourceful project manager with strong organisational skills and the ability to access and interpret large volumes of information to present accurate and simplified conclusions. She is a skilled and meticulous manager used to adhering to strict deadlines and project requirements.
In addition to her role at Intelligent Linking, Tracy has been involved in managing a number of community-based projects and has always been an active participant in sport – first coaching and playing rugby to international standard, and latterly as a Kent Society Rugby Referee.
Leslie, Associate Professor of Business Strategy and Organisational Behaviour at London South Bank University, where he lectures and leads research into strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation. Leslie runs the highly acclaimed Open Source Leadership programme for business leaders and in addition is a consultant to the private and public sector specializing in organisational strategy and behaviour. Through his academic work he has amassed extensive experience in research and the collection and analysis of large sets of data.
As well as his academic work, Leslie serves as a volunteer psychotherapist at the Camden, City, Islington and Westminster Bereavement Service where he provides support to people undergoing life changing transitions.
He is also author of the book "Power Partnering: A Strategy for Excellence in the 21st Century." His latest book, written in collaboration with Professor Cary Cooper, Pro Vice Chancellor of Lancaster University Business School, is called "Open Source Leadership."
Leslie's clients have included Manx Telecom, IOM Government, Royal Skandia, Capital Investments International, Cap Gemini London and Boston and Digital Equipment Corporation, Massachusetts, USA.
Julie has worked for over 20 years in information technology and management consulting for a range of blue-chip companies such as Lloyds of London, ICI, Cap Gemini and the Public Sector. She is a specialist in Knowledge Management (KM) and training, working at all levels with clients from defining strategy through to implementation, training and operational support. Her sector knowledge includes Pharmaceuticals, Agrochemicals, Marine, Insurance, Health and Defence.
As a subject matter expert at Cap Gemini Headquarters and global leader of KM, Julie was responsible for developing and sharing techniques for effective KM and was the Knowledge Manager for various functions in addition to consulting engagement responsibilities. She was a lead tutor at the Cap Gemini University responsible for developing and delivering KM and Business Intelligence courses. She developed the global KM programme and service offer – implementing changes through the formation and facilitation of global virtual communities - plus created best practice and case studies.
As Head of Knowledge Management at Business Link University (BLU), Julie was instrumental in evaluating the effectiveness of BLU's projects and launched ‘Success Stories' – case studies of people who had made a difference to local enterprise in their region. Julie also created the BLU toolkit – a collection of best practice for professionals working in the small business network and conducted After Action Reviews after major events to understand what went well and capture lessons learned to be applied to future events.
Ross has 20 years experience of working with global organisations based in a variety of locations (Africa, Australasia, Pan Europe & North America) and has been successfully responsible for the day to day leadership and operational delivery of major complex transformation and outsourcing programmes with values of up to £250M+. He has also created a wide knowledge of cross sectors and best practices which has helped his clients create sustainable efficiencies, build effective leadership and deliver demonstrable growth.
Ross has developed and delivered Strategic Solutions for a variety of clients. His insight into different organisational cultures and values has allowed him to gain a wide understanding of the different influencing factors that organisations consider and monitor during decision making processes.
Ross provides stewardship in blueprinting, advising and delivering complex strategic, business, finance and ICT change initiatives, as well as outlining options for sustainable growth and cost efficiencies both organically and via acquisition options. He is also a Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA), and provides commercial negotiations, leadership and support to organisations, internally and externally.
Victor Newman is Visiting Professor in Knowledge and Innovation Management at The Business School, The University of Greenwich, and interim Head of Innovation Strategy and Economics at The Technology Strategy Board. He is the former Chief Learning Officer to Pfizer's Global R&D operation (2000-2005) and Visiting Fellow to Cranfield University on the subject of Strategic Knowledge Management and Innovation.
Victor has extensive experience in the sectors of regulatory financial services, biopharmaceuticals, foreign governments, national innovation development strategies, manufacturing and telecoms. He has also led successful initiatives for setting up collaborations with entrepreneurs and SMEs. Victor also contributes to several leadership development programmes.
Victor has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, contributed to the Harvard Business Review and is on the Advisory Board for several organisations. He is the author of "Made to Measure Problem Solving" and his "Knowledge Activist's Handbook" from Capstone/Wiley & Sons has been cited as the "best management book within the last ten years".
Victor's recent clients have included Deloitte, The Financial Services Authority, The British Council and UEFA.
John Kay is a former Senior Partner in PA Consulting and has a 30 year track record in delivering major programmes in industry. Since leaving PA John has been focused on the development of socially responsible enterprise. New types of businesses that are essential to complement highly competitive markets and provide the underlying social fabric of a rapidly changing and globalised economy. John has developed the Social Capital Framework that challenges organisations to build financial value alongside moral and equitable social values.
Sue has worked for over 20 years in the consumer insight and research field, with a unique breadth of experience - from the perspective of client market researcher, as an ad agency planner and from the research agency side. Sue has worked for Mars, the ad agency DMB&B and the research agencies Added Value, TNS and IFF.
Sue's expertise spans both qualitative and quantitative methodologies and includes moderating qualitative groups, developing new qualitative techniques, managing teams of market researchers, working in multi-disciplinary groups, running workshops and idea generation sessions, planning and leading successful new business activities, conducting semiotic analysis, developing and introducing innovative consumer insight initiatives. Sue is a member of the Market Research Society Standards Board.
Sue has extensive experience with the public and private sector; recent public sector research projects were for the Department of Energy and Climate Change, the Intellectual Property Office, the COI (Act on CO2 campaign evaluation), The Association of Accounting Technicians, Croydon Council and The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman.
